Black is not just a color, it's a beautiful expression of strength, resilience, and cultural richness. Embrace and celebrate the beauty of blackness!🖤✨ this is a very beautiful piece, a good read
Thanks for sharing Adekunle. As a black woman in STEM, I have chosen to be intentional to live above the stereotype. It is always good to be way above the stereotype than fit into the stereotype. I am teaching my kids the same too. For example, a black female staff enters a hospital not in uniform, it is easy to judge, "she must be a cleaner", this female staff will be living above the stereotype in front of her supposed critic who thinks she is s cleaner if she was found in a surgical room leading a major procedure. Unfortunately, sometimes we do not have the luxury to live above the stereotype. That is why this kind of awareness comes in. Black is beautiful and I love being black.
Thank you for sharing your experiences Bukola! Your intentional approach to dismantling stereotypes, especially in STEM, is truly commendable. It's vital that we continue to challenge these preconceived notions, as you are doing with your children. Thank you!
Let us all stand in solidarity with black communities. Thank you!
Thank you bro!
