The In-Between
Where waiting stretches you, forms you, and prepares you for what’s next.
No one talks about how loud the in-between can be.
That space between what was and what’s next.
Where you’re not where you used to be, but not quite where you’re going.
It’s the hallway season. The transition. The pause before the breakthrough.
And it can feel like holy limbo.
You’ve outgrown the old thing - the job, the mindset, the relationship, the version of yourself that used to fit.
But the new thing hasn’t fully arrived.
So you’re waiting.
But not idle, becoming.
And that’s the tension.
The in-between is not passive. It’s pressure. Stretching. Refining.
It’s the gym for your character. The school for your trust. The forge for your voice.
But it’s also deeply frustrating.
You watch people around you move. Doors opening. Plans falling into place. And you’re there - faithful, patient, slightly bitter - trying to believe that your time is coming too. Trying not to scroll yourself into despair. Trying to stay planted when nothing feels like it’s growing.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
The in-between is not punishment. It’s preparation.
It’s the space where deep roots are grown. Where identity is clarified. Where you learn to walk with God not for outcomes, but for intimacy.
It’s slow, yes. Awkward, yes. But sacred.
So if you’re in that space - the undefined, unglamorous, un-Instagrammable in-between - breathe.
You’re not behind. You’re not forgotten. You’re not stuck.
You’re being formed.
And when it’s time to move, you’ll realise the in-between was doing more in you than you ever imagined.

Amennn😭
This is so crazy cuz I’m organizing a workshop this week with the exact theme, “the in between”
Thank you for this.
